With stainless, reducing carbon content increases corrosion resistance. Materials like titanium may not hold an edge like high-carbon steels.

Rinse the knife and sheath thoroughly as soon as possible after use, being sure to remove any accumulated salt beneath the handle or hardware.
Dry the knife completely, rubbing the blade and metal parts with a soft cloth to buff away any signs of corrosion or stain.
For more sharps to cut, spray the blade with a very light coat of silicone lubricant (don’t use petroleum oil), and store it in scuba dive knife sheath.
A diver’s knife is multi use tool – useful for tasks from cutting fishing line to pointing out marine life to signaling to a dive buddy by knocking on your scuba tank.
